Environmental protection during drilling

Research and production company RosTEKtekhnologii, LLC specializes in developing, manufacturing, supplying of technologies, process equipment, production procedures for preparing drilling wastes to be utilized. In addition, we produce and supply modified hardening (decontaminating) compounds for any types of semi-liquid drilling wastes.

Our equipment and technologies are applied both in RF and in foreign countries in various oil companies of Western Siberia, central Asia, as well as in the design of waste disposal landfills for CJSC EKO PK, ASTRAKHANGAZPROM, LLC, PRIAZOVNEFT NK, LLC, TsentrKaspneftegaz, LLC, OJSC RITEK, OJSC LUKOIL UZBEKISTAN OPERATING.

Our company implements the following environmental protection measures:

  1. Organization of environmentally safe drilling without storage pits at drilling site including implementation of “zero discharge” principle during the shelf drilling:
    • conducting laboratory physical-chemical studies of drilling wastes to determine their environmental hazard, selecting techniques and chemicals for drilling wastes processing into environmentally safe product;
    • developing and agreeing process procedures (company standard – STO) in territorial bodies of the Federal Service for Consumer Rights and Human Welfare Protection;
    • substantiating, manufacturing and supplying necessary technical facilities and production equipment;
    • contract supervision and putting equipment into operation, personnel training;
    • supplying chemicals and materials;
    • engineering support.
  2. Organization of stationary landfills to prepare drilling wastes for utilization:
    • preparing design and estimate documentation for construction of the stationary landfill for temporary storage and processing of drilling wastes;
    • conducting laboratory physical-chemical studies of drilling wastes to determine their environmental hazard, selecting techniques and chemicals for drilling wastes processing into environmentally safe product;
    • developing and agreeing process procedures (company standard – STO) in territorial bodies of Federal Service for Consumer Rights and Human Welfare Protection;
    • substantiating, manufacturing and supplying necessary technical facilities and production equipment;
    • contract supervision and putting equipment into operation, personnel training;
    • supplying chemicals and materials;
    • engineering support.
  3. Arrangement of preparation of sludge pits for reclamation:
    • conducting laboratory physical-chemical studies of drilling wastes to determine their environmental hazard, selecting techniques and chemicals for drilling wastes processing into environmentally safe product;
    • developing and agreeing process procedures (company standard – STO) in territorial bodies of the Federal Service for Consumer Rights and Human Welfare Protection;
    • substantiating, manufacturing and supplying necessary technical facilities and production equipment;
    • contract supervision and putting equipment into operation, personnel training;
    • engineering support.
  4. Preparation of environmental and production documentation:
    • developing and agreeing process procedures (company standard – STO) in territorial bodies of the Federal Service for Consumer Rights and Human Welfare Protection;
    • selecting techniques and performance characteristics of drilling wastes treatment using water-base and non-water-base solutions including oil-contaminated water, oil sludges and oil contaminated soils;
    • estimated calculation of drilling wastes treatment cost by types;
    • preparing sanitary and epidemiological inspection reports and expert reports on drilling wastes treatment end products;
    • developing specifications (TU) for drilling wastes treatment end products;
    • finding possible ways of utilization or recycling of drilling wastes treatment end products.
  5. Preparation of sanitary and ecological certificates for initial drilling fluids and drilling wastes.Sanitary and ecological certificate structure:
    • data on type and composition of the initial drilling fluid are given;
    • physical and chemical parameters and composition of drilling wastes are determined;
    • drilling wastes hazard class by types is calculated (order No 511 of RF Ministry of Natural Resources as of June 15, 2001);
    • hazardous waste certificate is prepared (order No 785 of RF Ministry of Natural Resources as of December 2, 2002);
    • preparing sanitary and epidemiological inspection report and expert report, report on performed works to determine drilling wastes hazard class by types is prepared (Federal Service for Consumer Rights and Human Welfare Protection);
    • conclusions on environmental hazard of drilling wastes by types are presented.
  6. Production and supply of stationary technical facilities and mobile complexes for drilling wastes treatment by types:
    • for processing semi-liquid drilling wastes including drilling sludge;
    • for conditioning or processing waste drilling fluid (WDF);
    • for processing drilling waste water (DWW);
    • for processing oil containing water, oil-contaminated drilling wastes, oil sludges and oil contaminated soils;
    • specifications of one of the equipment types included in the liquid and semi-liquid drilling wastes processing complex.
  7. Supply of modified hardening (decontaminating) compounds (MHC) for processing of semi-liquid drilling wastes, drilling slurries and oil contaminated soils into environmentally safe industrial ground.
